In my work, I explore the organic, whether that is in the depiction of the human figure or other elements found in the natural world. The delicate nature of ecosystems is a consistent influence I am thinking about in my work. Small and overlooked components have an extensive role, and everything in nature has an important part to play. I do representational paintings; drawing inspiration by formations or masses found in nature, and the inherently abstract semblances they possess. For example, explorations of bone forms are prevalent themes in my work. Muted color palettes and dissolving or blurring edges aesthetically tie the material to the transient nature of the subject. All of my work is rooted by the same underlying tones; evoking the notion of mystery, decay, disappearance, and the ephemeral.
